rava idli recipe, easy to make with only 3 ingredients, also known as suji idli. made from rava or suji or semolina.







INGREDIENTS:

  1. BLACK GRAM/URAD DAL/उरद दाल     -   1 CUP
  2. SEMOLINA/RAVA/SUJI/रवा/सूजी             -   3 & 1/2 CUP
  3. SALT/नमक.


METHOD:
  1. take 1 cup URAD DAL
  2. soak urad dal in water for 1 to 2 hrs
  3. blend urad dal with 1 cup water in a mixer into a fine paste
  4. consistency of urad dal should be thick
  5. Now, roast 3 and 1/2 cup RAVA on a pan on medium flame for 2/3 mins
  6. after the rava is roadted, let the rava cool down
  7. after the rava is completely cooled down, transfer the rava in a container
  8. add water and wash rava with water once
  9. now, we will mix rava and urad dal paste together, until well combined
  10. washing rava with water will allow us to mix the rava and urad dal without any lumps,
  11. add 1 cup of water, the batter should be thick,
  12. once the batter is well combined, keep it aside to ferment
  13. let the batter ferment for 6/8 hours
  14. after 6/8 hrs of fermentation, add salt and mix well again,
  15. now, grease the idli stand with oil, or any other small bowl,
  16. place the steamer on medium flame and 
  17.  and place the stand inside the steamer 
  18. and let it steam for 3/4 mins on medium flame
  19. After, 3/4 mins, remove the idli stand from the steamer,
  20. let it cool down for 3/4 mins and remove the idli from the stand,
  21. OUR IDLI IS READY TO SERVE!
