how to make desiccated coconut at home



The only ingredient you need is fresh coconut. This is easy to use and easy to store, and can be used upto 1 month if stored properly.





METHOD:

  1. break the coconut into 2 parts.
  2. now place the coconut in the fridge for 10-15 mins,
  3. after 15 mins, hit the outer shell of the coconut with a big knife or stone,
  4. now, insert the knife into the sides of the coconut, 
  5. now the coconut will easily come out of its shell,
  6. scrape the brown outer surface of the coconut,
  7. after scraping the coconut, cut it into pieces,
  8. after cutting the pieces, put it in the mixer and blend to 30 to 30 seconds,
  9. Now, heat the pan on medium flame
  10. transfer the coconut from the mixer onto the pan,
  11. dry roast the coconut for 15 mins on low flame,
  12. after 15 mins, the colour of the coconut will turn dry and the colour will change slightly,
  13. Our desiccated coconut is ready and can be stored for upto a month in fridge.
