MASALA IDLI GRAVY STYLE



INGREDIENTS:

FOR MASALA PASTE:

  1. Coconut/नारियल                -  1 CUP OR HALF COCONUT
  2. धनिया/Coriander powder   -  2 TSP
  3. जीरा/Jeera Powder             -  1 TSP
  4. राइ/Mustard Seeds             - 1/2 TSP
  5. मेथी दाने/Methi Seeeds       - 8/10
  6. हल्दी/Turmeric                   - 1/2 TSP
  7. लसुन/Garlic                        - 3/4
  8. लाल मिर्च / Red Chilli          - 3/4
GRIND ALL THE ABOVE PASTE IN A BLENDER INTO A FINE PASTE BY ADDING 2 TBSP WATER TO IT.


FINAL STEP:


  1. तेल/OIL                          - 1 TBSP
  2. राइ/Mustard Seeds         - 1/2 TSP
  3. प्याज/ ONION                - 1/2 ONION
  4. कड़ी पत्ता / Curry Leaves - 7/8
  5. उरद दाल / Urad Dal        - 2 TBSP
  6. पानी / Water                    - 3 CUPS
  7. नमक / Salt                      - TO TASTE
  8. गुड़ / jaggery                   - 1 TBSP
  9. इमली / tamrind                - 1/2 TSP
  10. इडली / IDLI                  - ACCORDINGLY

METHOD:

  1. HEAT 1 TBSP OIL IN A PAN
  2. AFTER THE OIL IS HOT ENOUGH, ADD 1/2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS
  3. ONCE THE MUSTARD SEEDS STARTS SPLUTTERING, ADD CHOPPED GARLIC,
  4. FRY THE GARLIC UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN IN COLOUR,
  5. ADD 1/2 ONION AND SAUTE FOR 2 MINS
  6. ADD RED CHILLI, CURRY LEAVES AND URAD DAL AND SAUTE FOR ANOTHER 2 MINS,
  7. NOW, ADD THE MASALA PASTE AND SAUTE FOR 2/3 MINS
  8. ADD 3 CUPS OF WATER AND MIX WELL
  9. BRING IT TO A BOIL AND ADD SALT, 2 TBSP OF JAGGERY AND 1/2 TSP OF TAMARIND PASTE,
  10. BRING IT TO  A BOIL AGAIN
  11. NOW ADD IDLI PIECES TO THE MASALA PASTE AND MIX GENTLY
  12. COVER WITH A LID FOR A MIN AND 
  13. OUR MASALA IDLI GRAVY STYLE IS READY TO SERVE!!
